As we know, every color gives certain feeling and can affect one’s mood. That is why we have to be careful of what color to use for the interior of our home. What impression are we trying to achieve? What is the function of the room? After we decide the concept and style, the next step is to choose the supporting elements (furniture, and decorative elements, such as rugs, pillow, vases, paintings, etc).
Here are some examples of color scheme we can use for the living room.
NATURAL GREEN
To bring in the atmosphere of fresh meadow into your living room, you can use green color. To give more natural touch, put some live plants or flowers as decoration.
You can combine green scheme with a bit of white or yellow color as accentuation.
Tips:
–Using wood element in green-colored interior gives warm feeling.
–White window and door seal matched perfectly with green-colored room.
SENSATIONAL RED
As a warm color, red gives warmth feeling to the interior. Red brings liveliness, energy and joy mood. It also, when combined with antique furniture, gives feeling of rich and noble. But be careful not to exaggerate, otherwise you will easily get tired in the red-painted room.
Tips:
–Avoid using dark red for all the walls. Paint just one or two walls at the most. Or use dark red to give accentuation only. Try paint the wall along the stairs using dark red.
–Combine with other color to tone down the red.
MODERN MINIMALIST GRAY
Gray color scheme gives an impression of modernity and simplicity to your living room. But gray is also a dull and cold color. So, it would be better if you combine two or more colors from the scheme or combine with other color. Since gray is neutral color, you can combine it with almost any colors. Try grayish yellow or red.
Tips:
–To avoid boring look, try creative painting techniques, such as stenciling, wash paint or sponging.
–Use simple furniture and accessories for elegant and sophisticated look.
